01 · The problem

Why plumbing contractors lose reviews they earned.

The work is done. The customer is happy. And yet the review never comes — because somebody had to remember to ask, and somebody never does.

01

"I'll ask next time"

Plumbers hate asking. It feels salesy after a $1,200 invoice. So they don't — and your reviews stagnate.

02

Emergency jobs vanish

You bailed someone out at 11pm Saturday. By Monday they forgot your name. The review never comes.

03

One bad week kills ranks

Two angry reviews about a clogged drain and you're off page one for "plumber near me."

02 · Built for plumbing contractors

The way your trade actually works.

Plumbing reviews carry asymmetric weight. A homeowner choosing between three plumbers at 11pm with water on the floor doesn't comparison shop — they read three Google reviews and pick. The plumber with 247 five-star reviews and an active recent stream wins, every time, even if their flat rate is $40 higher. That's the moat VouchCrew builds. The text fires the instant the work order closes in your dispatch tool — ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro, FieldEdge, Service Fusion, all native. The link is pre-stamped with the specific plumber who showed up. Customers tap once, review hits Google in under a minute. Across our plumbing customer base: median 12 new reviews per truck per month, 4.94★ crew average, and a 71% response rate on the SMS — three times what email surveys produce in this trade.

Built for these jobs.

Emergency leaks & burst pipes

After-hours, water-on-the-floor calls. The SMS fires before the customer's towels are dry — peak emotional gratitude, peak review velocity.

Water-heater install & replacement

No hot showers for 36 hours, then suddenly there are. The review window is the first hot shower. We make sure the link is in their hand by then.

Drain cleaning & hydro-jetting

Recurring service that compounds. Every snake or jet is another review opportunity from a customer you've already won.

Sewer lateral & main line

Big-ticket trenchless or excavation work. Six-figure ROI on a single review when it nudges the next $14,000 customer over the line.

Repipes & re-routes

Multi-day jobs where the customer's entire house is upended. Relief on day-of-walkthrough is enormous. Don't miss it.

Fixture & gas-line installs

Faucets, garbage disposals, water-softener loops, gas-line runs for ranges. Quick wins, fast reviews, compound monthly.

Real-world scenarios.

01

11:47pm. Water heater letting go.

Diego is there in 38 minutes. New 50-gallon installed, old one hauled, customer back in bed by 1:30am. SMS lands at 1:32am — "Don't reply now, but tomorrow morning, mind taking 10 seconds to vouch for Diego?" Review posted at 8:11am from the same phone, on the way to the bathroom.

02

Slow drain becomes a Sunday sewage backup.

You hydro-jet the lateral, scope the line, document with the camera, leave the property cleaner than you found it. The customer just got their weekend back. The SMS reminds them — gently, named — that Tyler did that. Five stars before the kids wake up from their nap.

03

Three-day repipe on a 1972 ranch.

Forty fittings, every wall opened. Day three the customer turns the kitchen faucet and gets clean, full-pressure water for the first time in a decade. The SMS lands during dinner that night. Review references the foreman by name and the "incredible cleanup." That review books your next two repipes.

03 · The compounding loop

Reviews are local SEO.
Local SEO is the funnel.

More reviews → higher map rank → more calls → more jobs → more reviews. Three pillars make the flywheel spin for plumbing contractors.

PILLAR 01

Total automation.
Zero chasing.

Job done? VouchCrew has already texted, followed up, and posted the review. Your plumbers never have to ask. You never have to remind them.

PILLAR 02

Crew tracking.
Every emergency call signed.

Every review is attributed to the plumber who earned it. Run leaderboards. Pay bonuses on real data. Spot coaching gaps early.

PILLAR 03

Review gating.
Stop bad reviews at the curb.

Anything under 4 stars routes to a private SMS feedback loop — not Google. You hear it, you fix it, you save the relationship.

From job-complete
to 5-star in 90 seconds.

No integrations team. No 90-day rollout. VouchCrew listens for the moment your plumbers close a drain clearing or water heater swap — and does the asking for them.

06 · How we’re different

Generic review tools vs. VouchCrew for plumbing contractors.

Podium, Birdeye, and NiceJob are broad-market tools. They send the same SMS to a dentist, a barber, and a roofer. VouchCrew is built one trade at a time.

01

Plumbing-aware copy, not retail boilerplate

Generic review tools send "How was your recent service?" VouchCrew sends "Thanks for choosing Apex — mind taking 10 seconds to vouch for Diego on the water-heater install?" The specificity is what gets the tap.

02

Per-plumber leaderboard with ACH bonuses

Pay your top plumbers automatically on review count. VouchCrew calculates the split, you click "Send payout via ACH" once a week. Top techs make $400/mo more. Recruiting flywheel starts spinning.

03

Review gating built for the angry-customer call

When a customer rates 2★, VouchCrew routes a private SMS to your phone — with the job number, the tech, and the issue — before anything goes public. You call them back within the hour, fix it, and 78% of those convert back to 5★ on Google.

07 · Questions, answered

Everything plumbing contractors ask before they switch.

Will this work for emergency call-outs at 2am?
Yes. You can configure quiet hours per location — the SMS waits until 8am the next morning so you don't wake the customer.
Can I assign multiple plumbers to one job?
Yes. Multi-tech jobs split credit on the leaderboard, or you can flag a "lead plumber" who receives the review attribution.
Does it replace my CRM?
No — VouchCrew layers on top of Jobber, Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan, or any CRM with a webhook. Two-way sync, no double entry.
How does VouchCrew know which plumber to credit on a multi-tech job?
You set the lead tech in your dispatch software at job-close. VouchCrew reads that field and credits them. For two-person jobs you can configure a 70/30 attribution split (lead gets full credit; helper gets a partial XP boost in the leaderboard). Big repipe crews can credit the whole team — every tech named in the work order gets the same review on their leaderboard line.
Will the review SMS interfere with our existing dispatch SMS (en-route, arrival, payment)?
No. VouchCrew uses a different short-code from your dispatch SMS and never fires until the work order is marked Complete with payment captured. The two streams don't overlap. We also auto-suppress on any customer who has opted out of one (compliant with TCPA and CTIA).
Does this work for commercial plumbing — property managers, restaurant chains, multifamily?
Yes, with two caveats. (1) For commercial accounts you can route the review SMS to the on-site facilities contact (not the AP person), since they're who watched your crew work. (2) For multifamily, we suppress consecutive asks from the same property — one review per address per quarter.
What about reviews on Yelp, BBB, Facebook, or Angi — not just Google?
Google Business Profile is the default and biggest lever (it's the one feeding the local pack). But VouchCrew can rotate destinations: 80% Google, 15% Facebook, 5% BBB — or whatever ratio your local-SEO consultant recommends. Yelp restricts solicited reviews under their TOS, so we don't send there.
