01 · The problem

Why landscaping contractors lose reviews they earned.

The work is done. The customer is happy. And yet the review never comes — because somebody had to remember to ask, and somebody never does.

01

Weekly customers tune out

They see your truck every Wednesday. They never think "I should leave a review." It's just routine.

02

Install crews move fast

A $50K backyard renovation wraps and the crew is on the next site by Friday.

03

Yelp reviews don't rank

You've got 200 happy customers — and 12 Google reviews. The math doesn't work.

02 · Built for landscaping contractors

The way your trade actually works.

Landscaping reviews are unique: they're visual. Customers don't just write words — they upload photos. A Google review of a paver patio with three "before/after" shots is worth ten paragraphless text reviews because future prospects look at the photos first. VouchCrew nudges photo uploads explicitly. The SMS arrives within 24 hours of substantial completion (longer than other trades — landscaping needs a day for the irrigation to settle, the mulch to look settled in, the lawn to grow back). The link drops the customer into Google's review form with photo upload prompted before the star rating. Photo-attached reviews on VouchCrew landscaping accounts: 64% (industry baseline: 19%). Those photo reviews are what dominate the Google business profile and out-rank competitors in image search.

Built for these jobs.

Design-build & full installs

Five-figure transformations. Homeowners take dozens of "before/after" photos — and the review they leave is the social-proof asset that closes the next neighbor.

Maintenance & recurring service

Weekly mow-and-blow accounts. Each visit is another review opportunity from a customer you've already won.

Hardscape — patios, walls, walkways

High-margin work where one stunning paver patio review is worth the next three jobs on the street.

Irrigation install & repair

Hidden-work trade with a clear win moment — first zone-test after install. We catch the homeowner watching the sprinklers actually water the right zones.

Outdoor lighting & low-voltage

Reviews go up after the first sunset photo. Homeowners do the work for you — we just make sure they tag your crew.

Tree & shrub work

Single-visit jobs that close clean. The trim or removal is dramatic and visible, the SMS lands while the customer is still admiring the new sightline.

Real-world scenarios.

01

Full backyard transformation, three days.

Carlos's crew demos the old patio, regrades, installs flagstone, builds a 14-foot retaining wall, plants 22 perennials, and re-sods the high-traffic strip. Day three the homeowner walks out, sees it for the first time in golden hour, and immediately texts her sister. SMS lands the next morning. Review goes up with five photos. Two neighbors on the same cul-de-sac call within the month.

02

Sprinkler system, suburban half-acre.

Six zones, controller, smart Wi-Fi tie-in. First zone test runs at 5pm; kids stand in the spray on purpose. SMS fires the next morning. Review specifically calls out the smart controller setup — and that detail closes the next prospect who was on the fence about whether to upgrade their controller too.

03

Weekly maintenance, $185/mo recurring.

Carlos's crew is in and out in 45 minutes. Every fifth visit, VouchCrew fires a "mind sharing what your neighbors don't know?" SMS — softer ask for recurring customers. Result: every recurring account becomes a review every five months. Twelve accounts = twelve fresh reviews per quarter, on a maintenance contract that costs you nothing extra.

03 · The compounding loop

Reviews are local SEO.
Local SEO is the funnel.

More reviews → higher map rank → more calls → more jobs → more reviews. Three pillars make the flywheel spin for landscaping contractors.

Total automation.
Zero chasing.

Job done? VouchCrew has already texted, followed up, and posted the review. Your crews never have to ask. You never have to remind them.

06 · How we’re different

Generic review tools vs. VouchCrew for landscaping contractors.

Podium, Birdeye, and NiceJob are broad-market tools. They send the same SMS to a dentist, a barber, and a roofer. VouchCrew is built one trade at a time.

01

Photo-upload nudge built into the flow

Customers who don't upload photos write 11-word reviews. VouchCrew prompts the photo before the star rating — driving photo-attached reviews from 19% to 64%. Photo reviews dominate Google's image search and the local pack.

02

Recurring-customer SMS cadence

Generic tools spam your monthly mow customer 12 times a year. VouchCrew runs a 90-day suppression window and rotates messaging — so recurring accounts become a steady stream of reviews instead of a complaint factory.

03

Design-build phase-aware triggers

For multi-week installs, VouchCrew supports mid-project and final-walkthrough triggers. Catch the gratitude twice. Compound it.

07 · Questions, answered

Everything landscaping contractors ask before they switch.

Will it spam my weekly-mow customers every Wednesday?
No. VouchCrew throttles per customer — a customer who already left a review won't be re-asked until the cooldown window you set (default 6 months).
Can I attach a photo of the finished yard to the SMS?
Yes. Crew foremen can drop a photo into the job notes and it auto-attaches as an MMS preview.
Does it work for commercial property managers?
Yes — but most commercial PMs prefer the private-feedback flow. We auto-route commercial accounts to the feedback inbox instead of Google.
Will VouchCrew bug our weekly mow-and-blow customers?
No. For recurring customers we suppress the SMS to one ask per 90 days, with softer copy than the one-shot install message. We also auto-detect when a customer has already left a review and never re-ask within the same 12-month window.
How does this work for design-build projects that take 6+ weeks?
You set the trigger to fire on "Final walkthrough complete" rather than "Project closed." That way the review SMS lands while the homeowner is still excited about the finished result, not three weeks later when she's lost in the photos. For long-arc design-builds, VouchCrew supports phased reviews — one mid-project ("How's Carlos so far?") and one final.
Can we route reviews to Houzz or Google specifically?
Both. VouchCrew's default is Google (it's the dominant signal for "landscaper near me"). For design-build accounts we recommend rotating 70% Google / 30% Houzz, since Houzz is where higher-end design clients shop. We'll do that split automatically.
What about seasonal slowdowns — does the leaderboard get weird in winter?
The leaderboard is configurable on a rolling period — 7d, 30d, 90d, or "all time." For seasonal businesses we recommend the 90-day view; that smooths out the winter dip and keeps the leaderboard meaningful year-round. Bonus pool calculations can be paused during slow months and resumed when revenue returns.
